CAIRO – 31 July 2023: Egypt’s Post issued a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of the world day against trafficking persons 2023 which comes on July 30 of each year.
This commemorative postage stamp aims in spreading the importance of addressing human trafficking crime worldwide.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Postal Authority, Sherif Farouk, said that human trafficking crimes are among the most profitable organized crimes, and come in various forms with the aim of exploiting people from the most vulnerable groups.
“Therefore, the National Post Authority initiated the issuance of a commemorative postage stamp with the aim of participating in spreading awareness and drawing attention to the importance of coordinating efforts to continue combating this inhumane crime, and to clarify the damages that occur as a result of its practice.” Farouk said.
The stamp’s design is based on the idea of ‘black hands’ that represent human traffickers and those who deal with them.
The stamp is also provided with an interactive code that enables stamp enthusiasts and those interested in them to gain the necessary knowledge about the occasion of issuing the stamp in an innovative and attractive way.
