CAIRO - 24 July 2023: North Sinai governorate is preparing to establish a new fish market in order to display and sell its marine products that were caught in the Mediterranean Sea and Lake Bardawil.
Engineer Nagy Ibrahim, head of the North and South Sinai Development Zone, the executing agency of the project, the Sinai Development Authority, said that the foundation stone for the project, which is the first of its kind in North Sinai, has been laid, indicating that it will be a new urban and aesthetic project to be added to the components of the city of Arish.
Ibrahim added that the project is a full-service market on an area of about 3,700 square meters, and a structural building of reinforced concrete will be constructed, containing 10 shops for wholesalers, each with an area of 36 square meters, and 24 retail stores with an area ranging from 25 to 35 square meters, in addition to spaces for fish services, a factory for recycling fish waste, an ice factory, refrigerators, and a supermarket.
These facilities will be located on the ground floor, while the first floor will include recreational places, in addition to 9 sectoral shops, 5 wholesale shops, 10 administrative offices for the administration, and a chapel. The second floor will include 10 shops with an area ranging from 150 to 250 square meters, while the third floor will include 10 fish restaurants with an area ranging from 200 to 250 square meters.
The head of the Sinai Reconstruction District indicated that this project is part of a series of projects implemented by the agency in North Sinai Governorate, including projects that have been completed and projects in progress, for example the construction of 6 new residential buildings in the Al-Raisa neighborhood and 6 buildings in the Al-Salam suburb of Arish, and the replacement and renovation of 10 buildings in the Al-Masaeed neighborhood.
