CAIRO – 22 July 2023: Egypt and Indonesia agreed on the importance of exerting more efforts to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, Egypt’s Foreign Minister said in a statement on Saturday.
This was announced during the 7th round of political consultations between Egypt and Indonesia, which was held in Jakarta, the statement added.
The round of consultations comes within the framework of preparing for a joint supreme committee between the two countries to be headed by the two foreign ministers soon to enhance joint cooperation in all fields, the statement continued.
The two sides also agreed to enhance Indonesian investments in Egypt to take advantage of incentives offered by the Suez Canal economic zone, and the opportunities of Egypt’s destination for access to African markets by benefiting from the free trade agreements that Egypt enjoys with several partners around the world.
The two sides reviewed the overall Egyptian-Indonesian bilateral relations in the political, economic, trade, cultural, educational and research fields.
