National dialogue hails Sisi's decree pardoning Patrick Zaki, Mohamed El Baqer

CAIRO – 19 July 2023:  The board of trustees of the national dialogue lauded a decree issued on Wednesday by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi pardoning a number of those who were slapped judicial sentences, including Patrick Zaki, lawyer Mohamed El Baqer

This falls within the framework of the president's constitutional authorities.

The decree was issued upon a call from the board of trustees of the national dialogue and the political powers.

In a statement on Wednesday, the board voiced appreciation and thanks to the president for such decisions which underline the president's keenness on securing the proper climate for the success of the national dialogue.

The board said it is looking forward to the issuance of more decrees that underline proceeding with steady steps towards of the new republic

Number of political parties lauded President Sisi's decision to pardon a number of those who were slapped judicial sentences, including researcher Patrik Zaki and lawyer Mohamed el Baqer.

In press statements, the parties reiterated that the decision reflects State keenness to provide an appropriate atmosphere for the continuation of national dialogue sessions.
