CAIRO – 17 July2023: Eight people were killed on Monday alongside other several injuries as a result of a 4-storey building collapse in Hadayek el Kobba neighborhood, Cairo governorate.
On Monday morning, the Civil Protection in Cairo received a report of the fall of a 4-storey building on Makkawi Street within the Hadayek El-Kobba neighborhood.
The forces headed to the building location to extract the victims from under the rubble, as they have managed to recover 8 bodies from under the rubble, alongside other injuries.
The wounded were transferred to Al-Demerdash Hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
Head of Egypt’s Administrative Prosecution Authority, Counselor Hafez Abbas ordered starting an urgent investigation into the collapse of the property, which resulted in the death of a number of victims.
The Administrative Prosecution also assigned the local administration to quickly conduct investigations and inspections to the neighboring buildings, to assure not to be affected with the collapse.
