Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli delivers a speech on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi during a virtual meeting of CAHOSCC - Cabinet
CAIRO – 12 July 2023: Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted that the Africa Climate Summit 2023 - due to be held in Kenya in September - will offer a chance for highlighting Africa's priorities in addressing climate change.
He said the African continent is the most affected by climate change, especially in light of growing drought and desertification.
Madbouli made the remarks in a speech he delivered on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during a virtual meeting of the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC) which was held on Wednesday in preparation for the summit.
He stressed that climate change comes at the top of the world agenda, highlighting piling pressures on African countries in light of food and energy crises.
The premier underlined the need for achieving climate justice, noting that Egypt is looking forward to cooperating with Kenya and all conferees to ensure the success of the summit and reach the aspired outcome.
