Egyptian Ambassador to Italy: Egypt unanimously elected as FAO council member

CAIRO - 8 July 2023: Egyptian Ambassador to Italy and permanent envoy to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations Bassam Radi said Egypt was unanimously elected for three-year membership of FAO council by the current ministerial conference of FAO.

This comes in appreciation of Egypt's outstanding efforts in the fields of agriculture, food security, land reclamation, water management, and using up-to-date irrigation means, he said.

The council - which groups a number of countries with key experience in these fields - forges the organization's policies and strategies related to food security which is a key international issue.
