RAMALLAH/NEW YORK, July 4 (MENA) - Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations Riyad Mansour said Tuesday that the UN Security Council should live up to its responsibilities to immediately halt the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people.

In his letters to the UN Secretary General and the UNSC president, Mansour called for implementing UNSC resolutions 2334 (2016) and 904 (1994) and other relevant resolutions.

He stated that the Israeli occupation forces conducted a massive ground offensive in the densely populated Palestinian refugee camp of Jenin in the northern West Bank, leaving nine Palestinians dead, including three children.

Israeli occupation forces also destroyed the electricity and water networks in the refugee camp, a matter that led to the deterioration of the humanitarian conditions there, Mansour added.

He appealed to the International Criminal Court to expedite its investigation into the situation in the Palestinian territories.

He stressed the necessity of holding all perpetrators, including Israeli political and military officials and settlers, accountable for their crimes and bringing an end to crimes committed against the Palestinian people.
