Smoke blanketing skies in Egypt - file
CAIRO - 3 July 2023: The Egyptian Ministry of Environment announced, through a report, that a total of $834 million (from grants and loans) is mobilized to support the implementation of various environmental projects.
The report issued by the environment indicated that the implementation of the environmental compatibility plans for the oil companies in the Gulf of Suez region has been followed up with a total of (12) sites belonging to (9) companies.
It also added that the implementation of the two environmental sanitation plans for (2) companies has been completed, in addition to the completion of the implementation of treatment plants in (3) sites, and the implementation of environmental sanitation plans for (4) other companies is underway.
The report also indicated that there was cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development to issue the first offering of sovereign green bonds, with a total value of $750 million.
The report also highlighted the completion of the first phase of the interactive map featuring the dangers of climate change phenomenon affecting Egypt.
