CAIRO- 19 July, 2017: The National Human Rights Committee in Qatar issued a statement on Tuesday regarding the difficulties Qatari citizens will face to carry out the rituals of Pilgrimage ( Hajj), undertaken between the 8th and the 13th of Dhu al-Hijja the twelfth month of the Muslim calendar.
The Semi-governmental organization’s statement said that Qataris suffered the current year in order to carry out the lesser pilgrimage (Umrah) during the holy month of Ramadan, as a result for the blockade imposed against the tiny Emirate by Saudi Arabia, United Arab of Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain.
The statement addressed the obstacles facing the Qatari citizens willing to go to Mecca, such as banning trading Qatari currency inside the Saudi Kingdom, financial transaction and the closure of the Saudi Embassy in Doha.
Saudi authorities said in the wake of the political rift with the tiny Emirate that Qatari citizens would be allowed to carry out the sacred rituals. However, the authorities did not state the procedures Qataris need to take in order to enter the Saudi lands since they are banned from visiting KSA.
