Indian PM leaves US heading for Egypt

CAIRO - 24 June 2023: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday left for Egypt after concluding his "historic" visit to the US during which he held talks with US President Joe Biden and addressed the Joint Session of Congress.

This is the Indian premier's first visit to Egypt, NDTV said.

The two-day visit to Egypt at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is also the first bilateral visit by an Indian prime minister since 1997.

During the visit, Modi will hold talks with President Sisi and a series of meetings with a number of senior Egyptian officials.

The Indian prime minister will also have a meeting with members of the Indian community in Cairo.
