Egypt’s Sisi, Macron discuss ways to enhance cooperation

CAIRO - 20 June 2023: Presidents Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Emanuel Macron expressed plans to advance relations over a working lunch Thursday.

On the sideline of the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact, Macron said Egypt is an important partner whose role is essential in stability in the Middle East, the Mediterranean region and the African continent, as well as in combating terrorism, extremist ideology and illegal immigration. 

For his part, Sisi expressed willingness to cooperate with France in the transport sector and renewable energy sectors, especially green hydrogen.

He also invited French companies to explore investment opportunities in Egypt.
