CAIRO – 17 June 2023: Egypt condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a secondary school in Mpondwe, western Uganda, which has claimed the lives of 41 people, including 38 students.
“Egypt expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the Republic of Uganda, and to the families of the victims of this disgraceful attack, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured,” said Egyptian Foreign Ministry in a statement on Saturday.
Rebels attacked the school near the Congo borders; they set fire to the dormitory and fatally shot people, AP reported, adding that the suspected rebels also abducted other people.
