Egyptian Defense Minister concludes visit to France

CAIRO – 11 June 2023: Minister of Defense and Military Production General Mohamed Zaki concluded Sunday his visit to France as he had held consultations with his counterpart Sebastien Lecornu for several days.

 

The two ministers discussed military bilateral cooperation, and exchanged views on regional and international developments. In that regard, Minister Zaki said he looked forward to reinforcing coordination and joint work to consolidate the pillars of peace and security.

On his side, the French Minister of the Armed Forces commended the depth of relations on all levels as well as the congruence on different matters, which fulfills mutual interests and contributes to encountering threats.

Minister Lecornu awarded his Egyptian counterpart the National Order of the Legion of Honor (degree of Commander), and that was endorsed by the French president.

 

Minister Zaki also met French Chief of Staff General Thierry Burkhard, and the chief military advisor to the French president to discuss activities pertaining to military cooperation between two countries.
