UK lawmaker praises Egypt's efforts to empower women

CAIRO - 11 June 2023: Member of the UK House of Lords Baroness Fiona Ferelith Hodgson, co-chair of The All Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace and Security (APPG-WPS), has voiced her deep admiration of the Egyptian efforts exerted in the field of women empowerment.

The UK parliament member's remarks were made during her meeting with President of the National Council for Women (NCW) Maya Morsi.

During the meeting, Morsi briefed the UK official on Egypt's efforts in the field of women empowerment and means of boosting future ties.

Hodgson was accompanied by a UK delegation in the presence of UK Ambassador in Cairo Gareth Bayley.

Morsi briefed the UK lawmaker on the activities of NCW and its keenness on protecting the rights of Egyptian women in view of the recent legislations issued in this regard.
