CAIRO - 11 June 2023: The National Dialogue resumes its sessions of the third week with large and diverse participation of various on Sunday.

 

The Committee on Political Rights discusses the number of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate one one session. In another, it will discuss whether or not representatives should be fully dedicated to the two houses. 

 

Meanwhile, two sessions on the Freedom of Information Act will be grappled with by the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms the public.

 

The agenda of the Human Rights Committee also includes torture, prison and detention centers conditions, amending the provisions of on-remand detention, restrictions of movement, rules for compensation in case of innocence, band account and travel bans, appealing criminal sentences, protecting witnesses and whistleblowers, and freedom of expression and opinion.

 

Provisions on freedom of the media and the press, their  independence, impartiality, and plurality will also be discussed, as well as prison penalties in cases of publication, the Freedom of Information Act, rules for encouraging interaction between the Egyptian academic community and its counterpart abroad, and freedom of scientific research. 

 

The fact that the state is obliged to taking measures against all forms of discrimination, and a law on the establishment of the Commission for the Elimination of Discrimination.
