CAIRO - 7 June 2023: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Angolan counterpart Joao Lourenco attended on Wednesday a ceremony for signing a number of agreements and protocols between the two countries.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Angolan counterpart Tete Antonio signed protocols of understanding between Egypt and Angola in the fields of exchanging information and security cooperation.
Agreements were also signed in the fields of water resources, clean energy and electricity.
President Sisi was given an official reception at the presidential palace in Luanda, Angola, Wednesday. Sisi arrived in the African country earlier in the day.
Accompanying Sisi on his visit to Angola are Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, chief of the intelligence agency Abbas Kamel and some ministers.
Lourenço asserted the importance of enhancing Egyptian-Angolan relations. He said that talks with President Sisi tackled means of boosting bilateral ties in the various domains, especially in the fields of agriculture, tourism, pharmaceuticals, information security and defense.
He lauded the establishment of a number of new cities, including the New Administrative Capital.
