US First Lady pays Egypt two-day visit

CAIRO – 2 June 2023: The US First Lady, Jill Biden, will arrive in Cairo on Friday for a two-day visit, in accordance the US Embassy in Cairo in a press statement, Egypt’s State-owned news agency MENA reported.

Egypt is the second stop of Dr. Biden's week-long tour, which includes four countries in the region and began in Jordan.

“With her visit to the Middle East and North Africa, the first lady will continue to build on her work to empower young people, and reaffirm our commitment to strengthen our partnerships and advance our shared priorities in the region,” her Spokesperson Vanessa Valdivia told AP in an e-mail.

The embassy stated that Dr. Biden will meet, during the visit in Egypt, with women and youth, and highlight US investments that aim to support education initiatives and increase economic opportunities.
