Secretary General of the Muslim World League had a lunch meeting with Vatican secretary of state

CAIRO – 1 June 2023: Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL), Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, had a lunch meeting with the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the MWL said in a statement on Thursday.

During the meeting, a number of issues of common interest were discussed, especially bilateral cooperation in the field of supporting the programs of civilizational alliance among nations and peoples, the statement added.

 

Among these programs is the one related to the optimal coexistence in societies of religious, cultural and ethnic diversity in the light of the commonalities among all, based on the understanding of the divine wisdom in creating difference and diversity.

The existence of difference and diversity does not mean the inevitability of conflict among civilizations, as the pessimistic and erroneous theories hold.

 

Cardinal Pietro Parolin commended the successful and exceptional meeting between His Excellency the Secretary General, President of the Association of Muslim Scholars, and the Pope of the Vatican.
