CAIRO, May 28 (MENA) - The Arab League (AL) on Sunday called on the international community to intervene and work seriously to put an end to the Israeli violations against Palestinian children along with ensuring their rights and safety.

AL Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh made the remarks during the opening of the "The Regional Conference on prevention of Grave Violations Against Children During Armed Conflicts", which is co-organized by the AL and Qatar, the president of the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Social Affairs ministers.

Providing protection of the Palestinian children is an essential and pressing issue that requires serious action by the international community to halt such violations and ensure the rights of the Palestinian child and its safety, along with holding those who committed these violations accountable, Ambassador Abu Ghazaleh said.

Promoting justice and equality would contribute to preventing further violations against the Palestinian children, the ambassador said, calling for comprehensive action to prevent more violations and secure sustainable growth and development opportunities for Palestinian children.
