Rwandan chief of staff visits Egypt to take part in Military Cooperation Committee meeting

CAIRO – 24 May 2023: Chief of Staff Osama Askar met Rwandan counterpart Jean Bosco Kazura who is visiting Egypt to attend the closing session of the second meeting of the Egyptian-Rwandan Military Cooperation Committee.

 

The two chiefs of staff discussed matters of mutual interest, including exchange of experience and joint exercises. Askar reiterated the depth of the Egyptian Armed Forces' relations with African counterparts, while Kazura valued Egyptian efforts on the front of supporting security and peace on the continent.

The first meeting of the committee took place in May 2021 when former Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid headed to Rwanda to meet both Kazura and the minister of defense, exchanging views on regional developments and common security challenges.

 

During the committee's meeting, Farid affirmed Egypt's commitment to reinforcing cooperation with the Rwandan military establishment and readiness to fulfill requests for further cooperation in the field of training, qualification, and exchange of experience.
