Divorce, violence against women discussed at National Dialogue: rapporteur

CAIRO - 15 May 2023: Many solutions have been put forward to resolve family issues and violence against women in the sessions of the National Dialogue, rapporteur Yasmine Al-Baghdadi, told Channel One Monday.

Boghdadi, rapporteur of the Family and Social Cohesion Committee of the National Dialogue, said the initiative addresses some controversial issues in this sensitive arena. 

The National Dialogue touches on a lot of matters regarding divorce in order to solve the crises from which the society suffers and the resulting problems. 

"There are forms of violence that are not criminalized, have no penalties, and fall within mainstream culture,” she highlighted.

She also emphasized that electronic blackmail, electronic harassment and bullying will also be discussed at the National Dialogue.
