CAIRO – 13 May 2023: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi instructed the government to prepare an integrated package of incentives, exemptions and facilities in a number of industrial and logistical zones in Egypt to encourage transit trade and manufacturing, export and re-export operations.

This comes with the aim of giving a strong impetus to these sectors, increasing their competitive advantages and maximizing the benefit of the advanced infrastructure constructed in this regard, the Presidency said, quoting Sisi as saying.

This will also contribute to increasing Egypt's share in the global trade market and opening new markets for Egyptian products and exports, Sisi added.

The president made the remarks in a meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir.

During the meeting, Sisi was briefed on developments pertinent to the state efforts, in participation with the local and foreign private sectors, to establish integrated development logistical hubs.

These hubs link production areas with seaports, which are being developed into world-class ports with huge capacities and equipped with various logistical zones.

This shall integrate with the modern transport network and offer requirements to transform Egypt into a hub for global trade and logistics, achieving huge returns for the national economy, the Presidency said.

Moreover, ongoing efforts were outlined to develop the shipping system, maritime and land transport, direct and indirect transit trade, the process of developing integrated solutions for the transport and handling of containers and goods across Egypt.
