Clashes in Sudan - Reuters
CAIRO - 8 May 2023: Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health, said that since the beginning of the Sudanese crisis, the Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar has received directives to raise the maximum level of readiness, to provide the displaced people with medicines and medical supplies.
Abdel Ghaffar added, in a TV interview, that the Ministry of Health has increased the number of medical clinics, hospitals and medical teams, to receive the displaced in a distinct manner and provide them with medical support.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Health stated that medical services are being provided to all visitors at all ports, and 2,100 children have been vaccinated against polio and 731 against measles and rubella, and that the total number of visitors to medical clinics is more than 7,500 Egyptians and Sudanese.
"The injured are transferred to hospitals in Aswan, and a number of other governorates, and this is all direct dealings from those coming from Sudan, in addition to many other measures by the Ministry of Health, against epidemics and other diseases for brothers from Sudan and the displaced from Sudan," the spokesman for the Ministry of Health added.
