CAIRO – 6 May 2023: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held was updated on the "Egypt's Future" project for agricultural production on Saturday, giving orders to keep working on the project to ensure the urban development, said Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy in a statement.
This came during a meeting with Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, the Advisor to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning; and Colonel Pilot Bahaa El-Ghanem, the Executive Director of Egypt's Future Authority for Sustainable Development, Fahmy added.
The meeting tackled the files of land reclamation, the establishment of silos for storing grains, and agricultural industrialization to maximize the added value of agricultural production, Fahmy continued.
Efforts to increase the use of modern technology in land reclamation, and the use of the latest irrigation systems and agricultural mechanization, within the scope of the project, were also discussed, he said.
The President said that the "New Delta" project in general aims to bring about a qualitative addition to the agricultural area in Egypt, to contribute significantly to bridging the gap in the various strategic crops and achieving food security, as well as providing thousands of job opportunities in various specializations, Fahmy added.
