Cairo - 6 May 2023: Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid on Saturday extended Egypt's deepest condolences to Democratic Republic of Congo over the death of hundreds in flooding and landslides that hit the eastern province of Kivu.
The spokesman condoled with the families of the victims and wished speedy recovery for the injured.
Abu Zeid voiced hope for finding the whereabouts of the missing people.
He asserted Egypt's solidarity with the government and people of the Congo Republic.
Dozens were killed, while many others injured when flash floods hit two villages in Congo's Kivu province on Thursday.
The rainfall in Kalehe territory in South Kivu province caused rivers to overflow, inundating the villages of Bushushu and Nyamukub
