CAIRO – 5 May 2023: Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has arrived in London to take part in King Charles III's coronation ceremony on 6 May on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

During his participation in the coronation ceremony, Madbouly will extend to King Charles the congratulations of President Sisi and his wishes of prosperity to the United Kingdom, a statement by the Cabinet read on Friday.

In September last year, Sisi has affirmed his determination to work with King Charles III to enhance the relations of the two friendly countries and peoples.

The Egyptian president was also keen to coordinate with King Charles on vital issues, including climate change, in light of the multiple initiatives sponsored by the British king in this field.

This came as Egypt also hosted the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) last November in Sharm El-Sheikh city.

Sisi also voiced last September his sincere condolences in the name of Egypt and its people to the royal family, the British government and people over the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch of Britain, at the age of 96.
