President Sisi discusses Egypt’s national security with leaders of Armed Forces

CAIRO – 4 May 2023:  President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the head of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) held a meeting with leaders of the Armed Forces at the State Strategic Command Center in the New Administrative Capital to discuss a number of topics related to Egypt’s national security, said Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy in a statement.

 

The meeting with attended by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki; Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Osama Askar; commanders of the main branches, and a number of senior leaders of the Armed Forces.

 

The meeting also touched on the developments of the situation in the regional and international arenas and their repercussions on Egypt’s national security in light of the current conditions and challenges in the region, Fahmy added.

 

The President also discussed the efforts exerted by the armed forces in all the tasks entrusted to them and the role they play in protecting the borders of the state against all hostilities and potential threats, Fahmy continued.

 

In addition to this, President Sisi tackled the Armed Forces’ efforts in the development megaprojects in cooperation with all state institutions to provide a decent life for citizens, Fahmy said.
