CAIRO – 2 May 2023: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call from Kenyan President William Ruto.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ahmed Fahmy said the two presidents discussed the latest developments in Sudan.
Views were aligned on the need to continue exerting efforts to reach a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire, while supporting efforts of peaceful dialogue and the resumption of the transitional phase, in order to save the Sudanese people and spare them the grave humanitarian and economic dangers resulting from the conflict, as well as fulfil their aspirations for a safe and stable future and consolidate the path for development.
The call touched on ways to advance bilateral relations across various fields , especially trade and the Egyptian investments in vital sectors in Kenya to support its development endeavours.
The two presidents agreed to continue consultation and coordination in the coming period on issues of common interest, especially strengthening joint African action, in light of the vital role of Egypt and Kenya in this regard.
