CAIRO – 1 May 2023: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi witnesses on Monday the ‘Labor Day’ celebration in Sharkia governorate at the sugar factory.
As part of the celebration, President Sisi expected to inaugurate 5 new industrial projects within the framework of the "Start" initiative to support the Egyptian industry
President Sisi also expected to honor a number of distinguished and veterans’ Egyptian workers by awarding them the Work Medal of the first class, and the Medal of Excellence for their efforts.
The celebration is attended by several Senior officials, Ministers and representatives of workers in all sectors from the boards of directors of public unions.
In Egypt, 1 May is known as ‘Labor Day’ and is considered a paid holiday. The President of Egypt traditionally presides over the official May Day celebrations.
