Samalout Axis in Minya governorate in Upper Egypt - file
CAIRO - 29 April 2023: The Ministry of Transport has conducted steps to develop the Samalout axis in Upper Egypt's Minya governorate, within the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to achieve Egypt's Vision 2030 as part of the sustainable development agenda.
The industrial and agricultural target of the axis
In a post by the Ministry of Transport, on its official page on Facebook, it explained that the Samalout axis contributes to the development of Upper Egypt, and aims to link agricultural areas with reclamation areas located in west of Minya, in addition to developing industry in East Nile in Minya, and making optimal use of Cement factories and quarries are there.
Touristic benefit
The ministry explained that the Samalout axis has a tourism role, as it boosts the industry, due to its close geographical proximity to several historical tourist places, namely: “The Path of the Holy Family and the Monastery of the Virgin Mary.”
Importance of Samalout axis
The implementation of the axis came, according to the directives of the political leadership, with the need to reduce the distance between the Nile axes and each other, to facilitate the movement of citizens, in addition to the importance of serving the development projects that Egypt is witnessing, after 2014, to build the new republic, the state of June 30.
It is noteworthy that the axis opened in 2022, with a length of 24 km and a width of 21 meters, with two lanes in each direction, and connects the agricultural road with the eastern desert, as well as the western desert.
