Turk added that Egypt has a large military force, and it did not take sides with any of the clashing parties in Sudan.
Hassan Turk further said, during a telephone interview on Extra News channel, that Egypt stood with the Sudanese people and not with one leadership against another, pointing out that Egypt has a large community in Sudan, a student mission, an agricultural one, and a part of livestock breeding in Sudan.
“The Sudanese people stand with Egypt and help in the transfers of Egyptians and protect them to return to Egypt, and they feel safe and know that they are protected from the Egyptian forces. Because we have a wise political leadership and 1000 calculations for Egypt,” Hassan Turk continued.
Democratic Unionist Part (DUP) is one of the Sudan’s two main traditional parties. Established in 1952 as the National Unionist Party (NUP), it is one of two political parties predating Sudan's independence, along the Umma Party.
It was founded by Mohammed Uthman al-Mirghani II's Khatmiyya order and Ismail al-Azhari's urban nationalist Ashigga Party, and currently headed by Hassan Turk.
