Assoumi also congratulated Minister of Defense and Militay Production Mohamed Zaki and the Egyptian people on the same occasion.

He hailed the performance of Egypt's Armed Forces in liberating Sinai and its efforts to defend the homeland.

The Sinai Liberation Day is a national holiday celebrated in Egypt every year on April 25th.

On this day, Egypt commemorates the final withdrawal of all Israeli military forces from the Sinai Peninsula in 1982, following the 1979 US-brokered Camp David peace accords.
