CAIRO – 20 April 2023: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi exchanged greetings on Thursday with the Arab leaders on the occasion of Eid El-Fitr (the festival of breaking the fast).
Sisi received a phone call from Jordan’s King Abdullah II, during which the Jordanian leader extended his sincere congratulations on Eid El-Fitr.
King Abdullah prayed to God to bestow his blessings on the Arab and Islamic nations and protect Egypt from any harm.
Sisi also extended his appreciation for Jordan’s king for this generous gesture, wishing prosperity and progress for the Jordanian people.
Moreover, Sisi made a phone call with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to extend Eid El-Fitr greetings and wish blessings for the Arab and Islamic nations.
Sisi made another phone call with UAE’s President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
The Egyptian and Emirati leaders asked Allah Almighty to grant their two countries and their peoples progress and stability and provide peace and security to the Arab and Islamic nations.
Sisi and Bin Zayed also discussed the two countries’ relentless efforts to calm down the situation in Sudan, halt the escalation, return to dialogue and restore the political trajectory.
This comes in light of Egypt and the UAE’s support for the people of Sudan in their endeavors to achieve their aspirations for reinforcing security, stability and development in their country, the Egyptian Presidency said.
Egypt and the Arab and Islamic countries are preparing to sight the crescent of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar after Ramadan, tonight to find out whether they will celebrate the first day of Eid El-Fitr on Friday or on Saturday.
