CAIRO – 20 April 2023: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi made a phone call Thursday to his UAE counterpart Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussing the eager efforts of both countries to achieve pacification, de-escalation, and resumption of dialogue and political pathway in Sudan.

That is in light of the two states' support to the Sudanese people to fulfill its ambitions pertaining to security, stability, and development.

The two presidents also exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid El Fitr, wishing the two countries and peoples all prosperity and stability.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had issued a statement earlier on Thursday declaring that the remainder of Egyptian troops who had been held by Sudan's Rapid Support Forces had been delivered to the Egyptian embassy in Khartoum in collaboration with the UAE and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRS).

The Egyptian Armed Forces also issued a statement clarifying that the majority of soldiers, who were part of joint exercises with the Sudanese Army, had been returned on board of three Egyptian military transport aircraft on Wednesday.
