Egypt calls for enhancing mechanisms at Organization of Islamic Cooperation

CAIRO – 10 April 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry met Monday with the ambassadors of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reiterating Egypt's calls for enhancing the mechanisms to cope with the requirements of the contemporary era.

The minister similarly underscored the salience of adopting a comprehensive approach to eradicate terrorism and extremism as well as devising solutions for Islamophobia and the discrimination Muslim minorities face in the West.  

The minister also invited member states to cooperate with the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding, and discussed the organization's role in supporting the Palestinian Cause and advocating the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
