CAIRO – 9 April 2023: The Egyptian government will provide the necessary foreign currencies needed to increase the imported fodder for the pourtly production.

Chaired by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, the government announced that the financial sector agreed to provide necessary foreign currencies to accelerate procedures for releasing shipments of sweet corn and soybeans to maintain the continuity of pourtly production cycles in farms.

In October 2022, Egypt experienced a shortage in feed nationwide, which led some farmers to execute chicks. During a meeting at that time, Madbouli said the feed shortage crisis took place due to the repercussions of the current global crisis, which affected multiple goods and other products.

Since then, the government has facilitated release of dozens of shipments of chicken fodder like soybeans and sweet corns.
