CAIRO – 6 April 2023: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, had Iftar on Thursday with Asmarat neighborhood residents along with number of public figures and members of Parliament as part of the annual event ‘The Egyptian family Iftar’.
President Sisi inspected the Productive Families Exhibition in the neighborhood, as he chatted with the residents of Asmarat, and asked them about their living conditions in the new housing.
President Sisi directed that all productive families in Asmarat be provided with all capabilities as he said: “We will provide any machines or equipment you may need.”
The Egyptian family iftar is an annual event, President Abdel Fattah al Sisi holds regularly during the holy month of Ramadan which is presented by representatives of all segments of the society.
During the Iftar Sisi conducted an open dialogue with Al-Asmarat residents, as he said that the government is working on providing one million job opportunity annually.
Sisi also said that all of the new development projects aims at providing new job opportunities for the youth.
He noted that Egyptians must stay united and have faith in themselves and what they have accomplished.
The president also affirmed that the government will be working more on improving the services and public utility.
President Sisi listened during the Iftar to one of Gharemat’s [indebted women] story who was released before the holy month of Ramadan per a presidential pardon. She thanked the president for giving her the chance to be reunited with her family once again after being imprisoned for owing LE 45.000 to debtors.
Sisi noted that the unemployment rate in Egypt is currently 7.4% ‘which is a rate that we seek to reduce, however it is ‘small’ compared to other large countries that does not have our population growth rate.’
“We are trying to provide job opportunities annually for all youth.” Sisi added
During the discussions Sisi shed light on ‘Haya Karima’ initiative that aims to improve the lives of nearly 60 million Egyptian.
President Sisi posed for a memorial photo with the children of Al-Asmarat.
