Azhar Grand Imam greets President Sisi, Armed Forces on occasion of 10th of Ramadan victories

CAIRO – 31 March 2023: Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayeb, offered his sincere congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and to Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki, Minister of Defense and Military Production, and the valiant men of the Armed Forces, and the great Egyptian people, on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the victories of the 10th of Ramadan.

The 10th of Ramadan's victory corresponds to October 6 War, 1973 where Arab countries led by Egypt and Syria defeated the Israeli forces mostly in Sinai and the Golan.

“Al-Azhar confirms that the 10th of Ramadan will remain a symbol of expression of pride, dignity and sacrifice made by our brave heroes of soldiers and officers of the armed forces throughout history,” the Grand Imam said.

“This excellent memory in the heart of every Egyptian will remain evidence of the valor of our armed forces that wrote a historical epic on this day to liberate the land and restore dignity,” he added, noting that Egypt's army will always remain its shield and impregnable fortress.
