CAIRO – 30 March 2023: Egypt is expected to see a significant rise in temperatures and warm weather over the coming week after the end of the cold snap, which started over the past two days and is forecast to continue over the weekend.
There is also a 20 percent chance for light rain in the northeastern coasts, northern Lower Egypt, and Suez Canal cities, said the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) in its Thursday report.
While Cairo and Lower Egypt are expected to see highs of 21 and lows of 12 on Friday, temperatures will continue to rise to up to highs of 32 and lows of 17 next week.
The northern coasts’ next week temperature will rise to up to 28 for the highs and 16 for the lows up from 20 and 13 for the highs and lows respectively on Friday.
South Sinai will also see warm temperatures of up to 31 and 17 for the highs and lows respectively up from 23 and 16 tomorrow.
Temperatures in northern Upper Egypt will also rise to up 33 during daytime next week up from 21 tomorrow, while southern Upper Egypt will see warmer weather of up to 35 during daytime up from 25 tomorrow.
The past week saw unstable weather conditions in Egypt and citizens nationwide have been urged to not wear light clothes in light of the cold snaps that hit the country.
This comes although spring geographically started a week ago and temperatures already started to rise significantly.
