Egypt closes Arish Seaport due to bad weather

CAIRO – 30 March 2023: The General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone closed on Thursday the Arish seaport due to the unstable weather conditions that prevailed in North Sinai.

"The port will be opened once the weather improves, to receive a number of ships for exporting Sinai products," an official at the Economic Zone told Youm7.

"North Sinai governorate witnessed moderate winds with a noticeable decrease in temperatures," the sources added.

The Arish City Council in North Sinai has allocated urgent telephone numbers to receive reports and complaints from citizens about malfunctions as a result of the fluctuating weather conditions.

The Arish City Council called on the residents to be careful and stay away from power poles, awnings, trees or construction areas for their own safety.
