CAIRO - 16 March 2023: Egypt has added one million feddan of agricultural lands over the past 8 years, and for the first time in the country's agricultural history, it has used on the contractual farming approach.
Egypt was in dire need for the fertilizer projects that were inaugurated Thursday, said Dr. Muhammad Fahim, Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture, adding that fertilizers and water are the most determinants that enable us to expand agriculture in the desert.
Fahim added that the existence of such projects, their opening, and their addition to the economic activities in the country represent great importance under the framework of proactive measures for food security because the whole world is suffering from a water and energy crisis.
He further said that the state had an early vision in cultivating the agricultural area, vertical expansion, and increasing improved strains of crops, in addition to contractual farming.
