Egypt saves LE 1K for every woman of 2 children a year

CAIRO - 14 March 2023: The government will save L.E. 1,000 a year for every Egyptian woman with one or two children until she reaches 45 years of age per a protocol signed Tuesday.

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning signed the protocol to fix financial support to the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family (NPDEF) and to empower women.

The accumulating sum will be released to the mother by turning 45 as long as she has two or fewer children. The saving will begin once she signs up to the program.

NPDEF will have its own profile under the Single Treasury Account.
