Egypt’s FM meets with Fadwa Al-Barghouti

CAIRO – 12 March 2023: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sameh Shoukry, received Mrs. Fadwa Al-Barghouti, wife of the Palestinian prisoner and leader of the Fatah movement Marwan Al-Barghouti, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Shoukry highlighted Egypt's tireless efforts aimed at achieving calm in the occupied territories and reviving the peace process, with the aim of meeting the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the basis of borders with the 4th of June 1967 and its capital is East Jerusalem, said Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman and director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He also affirmed Egypt's support for the steadfastness of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

Mrs. Fadwa Al-Barghouti expressed her great appreciation for the Egyptian efforts in support of the Palestinian cause at various levels, and Egyptian solidarity with the issue of Palestinian prisoners, reviewing developments in the Palestinian arena and developments in the occupied territories, added Abu Zeid.
