CAIRO - 26 February 2023: Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly will head to the Qatari capital, Doha, on a business visit on Sunday, in response to an invitation he received from his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, announced the Egyptian Cabinet in a statement.
Madbouly is accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes the ministers of planning and economic development, health, finance, and trade and industry, besides the head of the Suez Canal Economic Authority, the head of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, and representatives of a number of concerned authorities, the statement added.
It is expected that an expanded discussion session will be held for the officials of the two countries, and a number of documents and memoranda of understanding (MoU) will be signed to enhance bilateral cooperation, the statement continued.
In addition, the Egyptian delegation will meet with representatives of the Qatari Businessmen Association and the Qatari Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss opportunities to increase Qatari investments in Egypt and double the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, the statement concluded.
In November 2022, President Sisi attended the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Doha, upon an invitation of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.
In September, President Sisi paid his first visit to Doha since he assumed office in 2014, where he and the Qatari Emir attended the signing ceremony of three MoUs.
