CAIRO – 24 February 2023: The Egyptian Ministry of Interior banned the travel of citizens who suffer from chronic diseases from performing the Hajj rituals (the pilgrimage) this year,

The ban includes people who are the most vulnerable to the risks of infection, according to the controls approved by the Ministry of Health.

Those patients include those who suffer from kidney failure and whose treatment requires dialysis sessions, patients with lung fibrosis, cases of morbid obesity, advanced cases of cardiovascular disease, liver cirrhosis, and tumors, pregnant women in the first and last months, and people with mental illness and Alzheimer’s.

The Ministry stipulated that travelers should be administered booster doses for internationally approved vaccines against the Coronavirus, adding that a copy of the certificate from the General Administration of Administrative Affairs is a condition for obtaining a visa.
