CAIRO – 23 February 2023: Egypt delivered on Thursday the first shipment of medical aid to Djibouti, which include 20 tons of medicines and medical equipment, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The aid has been provided from people of Egypt to the brotherly people of Djibouti within the framework of the special relations between the two countries, the ministry said.
The shipment aims at enhancing the means of cooperation between Egypt and Djibouti in the medical fields, Egypt’s Ambassador to Djibouti Hossam El-Din Reda said.
He affirmed that Egypt is always ready to cooperate with Djibouti in all fields especially medical care.
Egypt has been supporting the health field in many African countries and has been also working to localize vaccine industry so that it exports surplus to the African nations.
Egypt has inaugurated renal dialysis units in a number of African countries, including Burundi and Juba.
The Egyptian government seeks to secure seven hospitals, five ambulances, and mobile clinics in Djibouti, South Sudan, and Uganda at a cost of LE 493 million, according to the economic and social plan provided by Minister of Economic Development Hala El-Said.
