Egyptian foreign minister receives Speaker of Morocco's House of Councilors

CAIRO – 23 February 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs received Thursday Speaker of Morocco's House of Councilors Naam Mayara in the ministry's headquarters in Cairo.

 

Minister Shokry underlined the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation, noting that parliamentary collaboration would play an important role in consolidating bilateral ties, which is necessary to overcome the challenges facing both countries and the region in general.

The Egyptian minister shed light on the major challenges facing the region, showcasing the salience of preserving state institutions, given they are pivotal to maintain the stability and security of countries.

Minister Shokry noted that the aforementioned orientation is reflected in Egypt's vision aimed at raising awareness on "the right national, humane, and religious concepts" as well as the empowerment of women and youth.

The minister also highlighted the economic reforms and mega projects carried out to create jobs and attract investments, expressing Egypt's readiness to share its experience with Morocco in all fields.

On his side, the Moroccan Speaker lauded the development Egypt is experiencing in all aspects, and expressed his country's desire to cooperate and coordinate with Egypt within the framework of the African Union. Mayara also stipulated Morocco's support to Egypt's water security and rights.
