CAIRO - 17 July 2017: Gen. Michele X. Garrett, Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Central Command's Ground Forces, confirmed Monday through a statement, that the partnership with the Egyptian army is very important for the stability of the region.
Michele X. Garrett also praised the security cooperation between Egypt and the United States, and expressed keenness on boosting cooperation and joint action between the two countries during his 3 day visit to Egypt.
He, along with his accompanying delegation, met on Sunday with Egypt’s Army Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy. The meeting dealt with a number of issues of common interest to both countries primarily prospects of military cooperation, and exchange of experience and training in many fields.
During the meeting, Hegazy highlighted the strong and deeply-rooted military cooperation between Egypt and the United States, and underlined the importance of coordination in confronting challenges facing the Middle East, especially terrorism.
