CAIRO – 12 February 2023: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi is heading Sunday to the United Arab Emirates to attend the World Government Summit, which used to be held annually since 2013, under the auspices of Emirati Vice-President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashed.

The presidency spokesperson, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, noted in a press statement that Egypt is a guest of honor in this year's edition. He added that the president would present the country's key economic and developmental strategies and priorities in light of the current global crises.

The spokesperson highlighted that the chief of state would also hold a number of bilateral meetings, and heads of regional and international economic institutions.

President Sisi's last visit to the UAE took place in January as he participated in a summit encompassing Egypt, Jordan, and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. The convention was aimed at holding consultations on international and regional security and stability.

The presidency's spokesperson indicated in a press statement that the president's participation in "Abu Dhabi Summit" is in the framework of Egypt's keenness on bolstering ties with neighboring states and consolidating mechanisms of joint cooperation.
